The HR Booth supporting the Career Ready programme

by | Blog

For the last four weeks, we have had Abby working with us in the office. Abby is part of the Career Ready programme.

What is the Career Ready programme?

Career Ready are an organisation who provide young people with skills, knowledge and experience in a working environment, all through various different forms of learning such as internship, mentor meeting & workplace visits.

You can find out more about Career Ready here. Or in the video below.

We caught up with Abby and held a Q&A with her about her time at The HR Booth. You can read her answers below.

Abby’s Answers

Have you enjoyed your time at The HR Booth?

Yes, I have enjoyed my time here.

What have you learned from your time at The HR Booth?

I didn’t even know what HR was before I started this internship, so I have enjoyed learning what HR consists of. I’ve also learned a lot about the marketing side of HR as well as a lot of different aspects.

What was your favourite experience during your time at The HR Booth?

My favourite experience is getting to know the people who work here, as well as discovering the new apps like Capsule & Breathe HR and getting to explore both apps, whilst completing some admin work on them.

Would you recommend the Career Ready programme?

Yes, I would. I think it’s a great way to get experience and explore new environments, that they may not be exposed to otherwise.

What job would you like to work in, in the future?

I would like to go to university to study Criminology and Policing. My long-term aim is to work within the Criminology field.

Best of luck in the future Abby, it has been a pleasure having you in & around the office, and we hope you’ve gained some valuable experience with us.
