Meet our Marketing Executive, Welcome Back Shannon!

by | Blog

We are excited to welcome back Shannon, our Marketing Executive, who has returned to work after eight-months of maternity leave. As Shannon settles back into her role, we thought it would be a great opportunity to catch up with her. We asked her a few questions so you can get to know her a bit better. Read on to hear from Shannon and see what she has to say as she steps back into her marketing role!

1. How long have you worked for The HR Booth?

I have worked for The HR Booth for 7 years now.

 2. What’s your job role and what does a typical day look like?

On a typical day, I write HR and employment law related articles, update SEO throughout the website, and work on any projects to improve the website. I also support the team and clients with any design or marketing support they may need.

3. What can you support clients with?

I can support our clients with designing marketing materials to fit in with their company brand, as well as offering advice on any SEO or marketing related query. I have also supported clients with creating and distributing employee feedback surveys and reports.

4. What do you enjoy most about The HR Booth?

My favourite part about The HR Booth is the people. The team are all great people who are dedicated in making a difference in the workplace. There’s always a brilliant atmosphere in the office. I also love designing marketing materials and working on SEO for the website.

 5. If you could visit any country in the world, where would you go and what would you want to experience there?

This is a hard one because I have so many countries on my List that I’d love to visit. I would love to go to Iceland in the winter to see the Northern Lights and visit the hot springs.

6. If you were stuck on a deserted island, what 3 items would you bring with you?

I would take something to play music with, suncream, and a luxury tent that I can sleep in without being eaten alive by bugs.

 7. If you could swap jobs with anyone in the office for a day, who would it be, and why?

I would swap jobs with Courtney or Georgia. I love to be organised and have secretly enjoyed any admin tasks I’ve done in marketing (I may retract this statement in the future). I would love to learn all the tricks of the trade and be a pro like Courtney and Georgia.

My Journey

”Marketing wasn’t always a career I worked towards. I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do after school so decided to study HND radio studies at College. This led to me studying Media Broadcasting at Sunderland University where I discovered digital media. After graduating from University, I knew I had more of an interest in Digital Marketing so I decided to pursue a career in this sector.

I then worked as a freelance digital media assistant, supporting businesses with their online presence. Shortly after this, I discovered The HR Booth and joined the team as a Marketing Assistant. Before joining the team full-time, I also worked with a vintage furniture and leather bag company for 4 years as their Marketing Assistant. I also worked freelance during this time to support local businesses with all things marketing.

My Job

As a Marketing Executive, I work with the team to develop campaigns to promote all the great services that the team offer. I also look after our social media activity, create video content, update our website, create marketing materials such as brochures, and write blog posts. I also work with the team to produce content for our regular newsletters, and support clients by producing newsletters and videos for recruitment campaigns.

Our customers receive newsletters every month with the latest news and advice on employment law changes, mental health guidance, Health & Safety in the workplace, and much more. I am also responsible for managing our client portal. The client portal is available on our website where clients can access hundreds of downloadable content including letter templates, checklists, how to guides, and videos on various HR related topics.

The Future

The team has grown a lot over the years with every member offering even more value to our clients with their unique expertise. It’s been really exciting to be part of the team during this time. I’m looking forward to meeting even more new members of the team soon and continuing to learn from their unique skills.

Do Employees Have The right to take Unpaid Leave?
