What is a Recruitment Strategy?

This is an action plan that aims to attract, hire and then retain the highest standard of employees. Your business should explore the most efficient and effective strategies to identify who the best candidates for a particular job vacancy are & how best to attract this level of talent. These employees will need to demonstrate a commitment to ensuring the best for your organisation. Your employees should be at the heart and at the epicentre of all that you do. This extends to social media, where you can share any positive and heartwarming stories from your colleagues. Often, we will post stories from our own employees, which our audience enjoy and gives our audience the perfect opportunity to get to know our team more in – depth. Looking at this from a recruitment point of view, potential job candidates will already ‘know’ some of the employees through the social media activity. This can make the transition from a new start to an established employee a little bit easier and more comfortable for them.

Optimise Job Listings

Before, you might have considered a job advert simply as a list of duties an employee must carry out, focusing solely on what was expected of potential candidates.

Nowadays, there has been an active mind shift towards a more modern – day job advert, highlighting more about the organisation, the organisational culture and the benefits associated with that job. Job adverts are a way to sell your company, showcase your brand and attract top talent, but also the right person. If you want to attract an extrovert to your business, you can word the job advert to suit and attract an extrovert.

 In today’s recruitment landscape, it’s seen as a prime opportunity to showcase your business and attract top talent. While a job description should be readily available upon request, the advert itself serves as the enticing introduction. The job description should make you stand out from the rest of the crowd, and market yourself as a more attractive company than your competitors. It will act as the initial point of contact for potential candidates, offering a small look into your own values, culture and working environment.

The Role of Social Media

Having an active social media in the present day is a must for business growth. It is a quick, easy and cost – effective way to grow and expand your business. The same can be said for recruitment. Every job vacancy that you come across will, at some point, have been advertised on social media. As we previously touched on, recruitment is an essential part of our service to our clients. This enables us to reach a larger and perhaps more relevant audience, therefore ensuring we provide the best service for our clients. Comprehensive Candidate Assessments

In the current market, a lot of businesses will often use applicant testing systems to narrow down the large number of applicants. This is not something we, at The HR Booth, use, however. We believe that in hiring people with the right attitude, we can train them up.

There are some relevant assessment techniques you can and should implement, however. Firstly, the traditional interview process. This is interview either through video call or in – person, in which the hirer will ask the candidate various questions on their personality, previous experience and current ability. This is a great way to get an impression on potential job candidates. We recommend holding multiple rounds of interviews, with the process becoming more in – depth, the further through the rounds you get. This is a sure – fire way to hire, who you believe, to be the best candidate for the job.

Focus on Retention

Employee retention is essential for business success. New starts will need to feel welcome, comfortable and supported throughout your onboarding process. We recommend coming up with an induction plan for any new – starts. At The HR Booth, a typical induction plan will involve meeting everyone, having an onboarding meeting with their line manager, meeting with individuals in different departments – this includes Human Resource, Marketing and Recruitment – ensuring you provide a deeper understanding of the business for the new employee. We will also look to have a team lunch in the office with them as well, aiming to make them feel as comfortable as possible.
